Job description:

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic assistant controller to take a significant role in our finance team. This position will report to the Senior Corporate Controller and will take part in designing and operating financial closing & reporting processes as well as support the ongoing financial operation of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking part in the monthly and quarterly financial closing, consolidation and reporting process of the company
  • Working closely with our external accountants and overseeing our subsidiaries financial processes (including bookkeeping, payroll, AP, AR, etc.) and periodic results (reporting packages, supporting working papers, tax reports)
  • Managing the Company’s procurement procedure and system, and ensuring compliance with the existing policy
  • Working closely with other departments in the organization and act as the finance focal point to support payments & accruals while monitoring their budget usage
  • Monitoring of project budgets and preparation of related government grant reports
  • Participating in the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and internal controls to comply with legislation
  • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting through performing periodic internal controls
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Company’s financial statements
  • Working with the Company’s external auditors/advisors on audit, accounting, and other economic matters

The ideal candidate:

  • Certified CPA from one of the Big 4 accounting firms – a must (Experience working with high-tech companies is a plus)
  • 3+ years of hands-on accounting experience (including internship) – a must (Experience working as an assistant controller is a plus)
  • Hard working, comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment and meeting multiple deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to details
  • Reliable and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively
  • Eager to learn, with a self-motivated personality
  • Team player who can also think and work independently
  • Highly computer proficient, including advanced capabilities with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Superb interpersonal and verbal skills and is fluent in English
  • Experience with Priority ERP – a plus
  • Experience with procurement process management – a plus
  • Experience with government grants – a plus
