NRGene announces management changes and opening of San Diego office

NESS ZIONA, Israel and SAN DIEGO – January 11, 2019 – NRGene announced today some notable changes to its executive leadership team, taking effect as the company expands its global footprint and opens a new office in San Diego, California. As of Jan. 1, 2019, NRGene co-founder Gil Ronen has transitioned from Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to President. Jonathan Jaglom, previously Chief Operating Officer, has taken over as the new CEO.

“Our successful collaborations with dozens of companies including Bayer, Syngenta, and Bridgestone, have further established NRGene as a leading provider of turn-key solutions for companies engaged in sophisticated breeding to improve food production,” said Ronen. “Jonathan’s experience and proven ability to manage companies as they expand their operations globally is exactly what NRGene needs as we enter a new chapter of product innovation and growth.”

Prior to joining NRGene in August 2018, Jaglom served as CEO of MakerBot, a New York-based manufacturer of 3D printers. He has also held executive roles at Stratasys, including General Manager (Asia-Pacific) and Vice President of Sales Operations.

“I am honored to be part of such an exciting and vibrant industry,” said Jaglom. “NRGene has made tremendous progress in recent years, customizing its solutions to closely fit the needs of the leaders in our field. Our vision now is to expand the business and make our genomic solutions a common practice for all breeders worldwide, allowing companies to save time and significant costs in their research efforts.”

“With our core business generating significant growth to the company, now is the time for Gil to identify additional growth opportunities for NRGene,” said Jaglom. “Gil’s entrepreneurial spirit and in-depth understanding of the market will undoubtedly generate further business for NRGene over time.”

As part of this new stage of growth, the company has recruited two experienced sales general managers – Nitay Gold for North America and Josh Peleg for EMEA and APAC. NRGene is also opening a new office in San Diego, taking advantage of the local expertise in genomics and agricultural biotechnology.

“The decision to establish a permanent office in San Diego was a logical step in our business growth strategy,” said Gold. “San Diego is the global hub of molecular breeding, so this will open the door for exciting talent recruitment and the development of new partnerships.”
